Video of the month - March 2011

Nothing new around the band.Linde is almost done with his tour as a supporting group to Cradle Of Filth and as for Ville, well, we can't track him for almost half an year now.... But hope never dies, so let's think that this won't last long and very soon they will inform us what are the plans for the 2011. In the best case, anyways, there will be an album till th eend of the year, and in the worst - next year, same time. Of course this year there will be lots of fests, so let's include that hope again and believe that they will find time and desire to participate.
The video of the month this time is pretty comic. At first Linde is missing, as this is the day when he got his first daughter. Secondly, as you will hear yourselve, with the great aim to save some time, the organizators of Top Of The Pops have cuttet and speeded up the song....so the result is preety funny and Ville and Co had to get along with the situiation somehow... :)

Also, as I am quite fond of the idea of  the Runner-up of video of the Month, I decidet to repeat the case. so we go back even urlier in 2001. Here you will see how Ville is trying to learn how to play on playback and is having quite a lot of fun times laughing... :D
Pretending (Top Of The Pops 2001)

And a bit more, let's keep the poll for the Best HIM Concert ever! ;)

This year  Heartagram Day will be on February the 12th. In the official page you are being invited to take part into the competition of Photo Drawing  and of course the lucky winner would enjoy a great award! ;)

Linde, Mige and Burton are in the States touring as a supporting group of Cradle of Filth. The tour ends on March the 13th and let's hope that untill April we will receive some more information about the plans of our beloved band.
Photoes from the Daniel Lioneye gig in club Tavastia:

And finally.I had to choose from two live videos of Heartache Every Moment. In spite of the fact that the one with the least good quality is quite unfamiliar and rare and my intention was to post it as a video of the month, in the very last moment I switched mind and chose the next on the list. For the first time I decided to make room for an exception and to post the runner-up. :)

Happy New Year! healtier and happier for everyone! Wink

From long time I have decided to place this video as chosen for the month. This is the rarest live performed song from all the band singles. This is a video from the New Year's gig from  01.01.2004, which was directly broadcasted on the finnish channel MTV3+. This song also was part of the encore and was not broadcasted on TV. Later on it was added to the  Love Metal Archive Vol.1. DVD.Enjoy the watching... it is the best live of this song that you could find ;)

Today I realized that I'm far too late with the video of the month. Laughing I was hesitating for ages between two clips, but decided eventually that no matter which one I chose I won't be mistaken! I guess, that the video is quite familiar to you. I decided it to be the video of December 2010 because the end of the song is just epic , the band rocks out amazingly!Even the last poll in the website proved that the consert itself is one of your favourites and also the concert itself is from December 1998.

Dying Song Video, Official Calendar 2011
Written by Alex
Wednesday, 01 December 2010 22:58
Let's start with the short interview for Kerrang!, that is out today. I'm gonna mention only the most important bits , the rest you can check yourselves! ;)
The first and the most important Ville again denyes the roumors that the band is seperating. In fact he's got a trully possitive view and shares that actually they use the pause between the albums to fulfill seperate projects each one is working on. Linde, Mige and Burton work on the
Daniel Lioneye project and Gas is touring withthe band  The Flash From The Bones. In his opinion there was no point in continuing with the SW tour and to play absolutely the same gigs with the same setlist as the ones 2 years ago (+/- a few new add ons ;).  After finishing with the individual projects  they will start working on the new album( which I think could be in the middle of 2011). As for the remix album - the idea was to remix a few songs and to add them as bonus tracks for the future releases, but eventually they released them as a whole album.
Scan of the article - HERE.

Here is another video from Screamworks. This time it is for the Dying Song. It is weird actually that it is not in  www.dyingsong.com like the rest of the videos.

SWRMXS Description
Written by Alex
Wednesday, 24 November 2010 22:04

“SWRMXS” is a remixed version of HIM’s 2010 album "Screamworks: Love In Theory and Practice." This marks the first time the band has released a full length remix album and it features collaborations with some of the biggest names in electronic music today.

Also featured are collaborations with new stars on the electronic scene and remixes by Ville Valo himself.

1. In Venere Veritas (Huoratron Remix) Huoratron is the brainchild of Finish electronic music producer Aku Raski. He began doing remixes in 2003 and is known for producing what has been referred to as Game Boy Music, which is produced using a game system of the Game Boy line.

2. In The Arms Of Rain (SALEM Remix) Salem is a mid-west band from Traverse City, Michigan who gained fast popularity with their 2008 debut, Yes I Smoke Crack. Originally a solo project began by John Holland in 2006, Salem now also includes Heather Marlatt and Jack Donoghue.

3. The Foreboding Sense of Impending Happiness (Morgan Page Remix) Morgan Page is a progressive house and electro house DJ from Los Angeles. His most widely recognized track is "The Longest Road," feat. Lissie, which was included on his debut album Elevate, released in March 2008. The Deadmau5 remix was nominated for a Grammy (Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical).

4. Ode to Solitude (Gavin Russom Remix) Gavin Russom is a producer and musician who has released music under various guises over the years, including Black Leotard Front, Black Meteoric Star and The Crystal Ark, as as well as collaborative work with Delia Gonzalez. Russom also has also designed and built custom analog synthesizers for both his own music and for others'.

5. Heartkiller (The Mercyfvcks Remix) The Mercy Fvcks is a side project and Ville Valo and another way for him to stretch his creativity.

6. Love, The Hardest Way (Tiesto Remix) DJ Tiesto is a Dutch musician, DJ and record producer. His many productions, remixes and performances (including the opening ceremony at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece) has lead to him being widely regarded as the number one DJ in the world.

7. Shatter Me With Hope (oOoOO Remix) Based in San Francisco, CA, oOoOO (Christopher Dexter Greenspan) started as a blog phenomenon and grew into a sought after remixer. Yet he remains mysterious by insisting that in the age of the internet, names and biographical details are less important than visual and sonic codes.

8. Dying Song (Jay Lamar & Jesse Oliver Remix) Fresh off their collaboration on Robyn feat. Royksopp's "None of Dem", Jay Lamar & Jesse Oliver (Ville's brother) collaborate again on "Dying Song".

9. Disarm Me (With Your Loneliness) (VV Remix)

10. Scared To Death (Diamond Cut Remix) Diamond Cut is a New York City outfit whose production and remix credits include Futurecop!, M'Black and Super Mal.

11. Acoustic Funeral / Like St. Valentine / Katherine Wheel (OO Megamix) OO consists of Ville and his brother Jesse Oliver.

SWRMXS preview and upcoming video, DL tour

Maybe most of You have already heard In Venere Veritas (Huoratron Remix), which is on the main page of www.heartagram.com. It sounds quite bizzare so everything is just about taste...there are a few quite good  moments, but if you don't like it there is no need to curse about it and the band as well. Ville wanted for a long time to do a remix album so we can be only happy about it. Everything else does not matter. The music is his, so he can deal with it as he wishes.
On the other hand Scared To Death (Diamond Cut Remix) is also available now, and I'm quite fond of it actually. It's pleasant but doesn't really stand out with anything special.

Eugene Riecansky is director of the video Scared To Death, which the band filmed in the beginning of the year in Melbourne, Australia. More interesting is that in  his twitter account he posted a secret project with HIM that he is working on right now. Of course, obviously, it has to do with a new video probably from the remix album, but wether this is true or just another rumour, we'll find out in 2 weeks period!

This is the Promo picture of Daniel Lioneye for the upcoming tour in 2011. At the moment the guys are rehearsing quite intensively!  ;-]

The picture is taken by Toni Marie Iommi.

SWRMXS Tracklist

Thursday, 11 November 2010 21:08
So from today you will be able to purchase SWRMXS. The price of the CD is 14$, but if you wish to get the limited eddition wich includes a t-shirt with the cover, you will pay 25$.

Here is the most interesting news for today :) Let's hope that very soon the whole Tiesto remix will be available. As you will nitice yourselve the track number 11 consists of three songs. For some of us that wouldn't be so appealing, for others would be. Let's wait and hear and we'll talk about it afterwards because many people reacted quite harshly already about the remix album.

Because Ville's got a birthday this month, I decided the best video of November to be connected to that little fact :p The video at the bottom is ripped from the Finnish TV which organized back at that day Ville's birthday. It was his 23 d birthday and the songs that they play are from the upcoming then new album - Razorbade Romance. The guys play a few songs, Ville blows the candles, a bit of presents and so on... ;)
